Bent Gabrielsen Pedersen, often simply known as Bent Gabrielsen, is a Danish jewelry designer famous for his minimalist and expressive creations that embody Scandinavian aesthetics. Gabrielsen graduated as a goldsmith in 1949 after completing his apprenticeship with the goldsmith Ejler Fangel in Copenhagen. He joined the Hans Hansen workshop in the 1950s, where he developed his signature style, characterized by clean lines, balanced proportions, and understated elegance. He served as artistic director at Hans Hansen until 1969, after which he established his own workshop, ‘Gabrielsen’s Guldsmedie’. His work often incorporates simple geometric shapes and emphasizes the natural beauty of materials, with a particular affinity for gold and sterling silver. Gabrielsen's creations were widely praised, earning him the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1964, awarded to exceptional Scandinavian designers. He removed Pedersen from his signature in the 1960s and became known simply as Bent Gabrielsen.
