Elis Kauppi (1921-2004) founded Kupittaan Kulta Oy in 1945 together with Jorma Nurmi and Pekka Kivipuro. Considered one of the pioneers of modern Finnish jewellery design, she was the long-term artistic director and jewellery designer (until 1988) of the company based in Turku, Finland.
