Gilbert Albert is a Swiss jewellery designer known for his innovative and artistic approach to jewellery design. Trained at the School of Industrial Arts in Geneva, he started as a watch designer in 1955, at only 25 years of age joining the Patek Philippe workshops and soon became the head of the creative department. Thereafter, Albert turned to jewellery and opened his first workshop in 1962. Gilbert Albert's creations often feature bold and sculptural forms, and he is known for using a wide range of materials, including precious and semi-precious gemstones, metals, and organic materials such as sea urchin skeletons, shark teeth and peacock feathers. Albert's jewellery designs have been showcased in exhibitions around the world and have received numerous awards including multiple wins at the Diamonds International Awards. This ring with interchangeable beads is an iconic piece by Gilbert Albert.
