- Chaumet
Founded in 1870 by Marie-Etienne Nitot, Chaumet is a French jewellery house.
This prestigious house made the emerald set offered by Napoleon Bonaparte to Marie-Louise on the occasion of their wedding. It is set with 1138 diamonds and 36 emeralds. Acquired by the jeweller Faerber, the latter sold it to the Louvre Museum. Today, the piece can be admired in the Galerie d'Apollon. Chaumet was also the first jewellery house to set up shop on the Place Vendôme in 1812.
