is a Danish jewellery and silversmithing house founded in 1906 by Hans Hansen in Kolding, Denmark. Initially specializing in silverware, the company became a key player in modern Scandinavian design, known for its minimalist and elegant jewelry.
In the 1930s, Hans Hansen began producing jewellery that embraced the principles of modernism, emphasizing clean lines, fluid shapes, and a refined use of materials. After Hans Hansen’s passing, his son, Karl Gustav Hansen, took over the company and continued its legacy by collaborating with talented designers like Bent Gabrielsen, who served as the artistic director until 1969. In 1992, the Hans Hansen firm was taken over by Royal Copenhagen, which had also acquired Georg Jensen.
