- Line Vautrin (1913-1997)
Line Vautrin is an iconic French designer, nicknamed 'the poetess of metal' due to her unique artistic approach. She is known for her one-of-a-kind jewelry, mirrors, and decorative objects, which combine remarkable technical craftsmanship with a poetic and dreamlike imagination. Primarily working with metal, particularly gilded and silvered bronze, she invented and patented 'talosel,' a resin of her own design that she used to create pieces incorporating shards of mirror.
Line Vautrin's creations, often adorned with words, letter games, and symbols, are sought after for their mystical and playful qualities. Her work is featured in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
